Headmaster's Corner: Summer Update
Dear Friends of Chesterton,
Campuses traditionally fall silent over the summer, but it is also the time when a school can work on many projects that we can’t normally approach during the school year. This summer is no exception as we are busy accomplishing much to prepare for our third school year! Here are a few of the highlights:
We are preparing resources, spaces, and staff to welcome 58 students, including our biggest freshman class yet.
We have three awesome, experienced faculty members joining our already merry band of teachers.
We are improving our physical campus both with more beauty and orderliness within the classrooms, as well as security around campus.
We sent nine representatives of our school (faculty, headmaster, and board members) to attend the Chesterton Schools Network Summit. Through this week-long conference, we learned, collaborated, prayed, and reflected on how to deliver the Chesterton Academy experience to our students.
Also at this conference, in the midst of all of the talks and workshops, as I swapped stories and information with other schools, one theme kept emerging: how blessed we are! Other Chesterton Academies throughout the country kept remarking about how we at Chesterton Academy of Sacramento are blessed in a number of ways, including:
We have robust student enrollment, despite being such a new school.
We have a supportive bishop and pastor.
We have a campus on the grounds of a parish, with the opportunity for daily Mass and confession.
We are already offering multiple sports opportunities to students, as well as the capstone pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi.
We have a wonderfully supportive, faithful community.
This school is no accident. We are blessed! We are blessed to have a school like Chesterton Academy where our students can receive a phenomenal education and encourage each other to grow in holiness. I look forward to continuing to serve and lead this amazing academy!
God bless,
Harrison Brehm, Headmaster
