House System

Shields of the four Chesterton Academy houses: Ambrose, Augustine, Athanasius and Chrysostom

Chesterton Academy’s House system is drawn from the 1,000 year-old tradition of Christian education exemplified in the colleges at Oxford and Cambridge. The Houses provide real, tangible community within the larger school, giving students the opportunity to take ownership, fulfill the call to leadership, and to cultivate the ideal conditions for virtue.

HOUSE NAMES

Houses are named for the four saints (two from the West, two from the East) who support the Chair of Peter in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome:

Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi

Chesterton Academy upperclassmen have the opportunity to spend ten days in Rome and Assisi, immersing themselves in the vast cultural and Catholic heritage of Italy. Holy Mass, the cornerstone of each day, is complemented by tours designed to enrich four years of Catholic classical education. During this special capstone pilgrimage, students join other Chesterton Academies from across the country to visit holy sites in the Eternal City, including St. Peter’s Basilica, the catacombs of St. Sebastian, the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. the Basilicas Of Sts. Clare and Francis, and more. This pilgrimage is an experience of a lifetime.
