On October 3, our Chesterton Academy community gathered at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento for our Fifth Annual Vision Gala, celebrating five years of God's faithfulness and looking ahead to the future of our school.

We are deeply grateful to our generous donors, sponsors, families, alumni, and friends who made the evening possible. Together, we reached our $389,000 goal! Your generosity helps sustain our school and ensures that our mission continues to flourish. Your support and partnership allows us continue our mission of forming joyful saints and leaders through a classical Catholic education.

The evening was not simply a celebration of how far we have come, but an opportunity to invest in the students and families who will carry this mission forward.

The Mission of Pro Ecclesia Sancta

The mission of Chesterton Academy is deeply enriched by the spiritual guidance and presence of the priests and religious of Pro Ecclesia Sancta (PES). Through their ministry, prayer, and commitment to forming young people in the faith, they help cultivate a school community rooted in Christ and oriented toward holiness.

Their presence is a gift to our students, faculty, and families, reminding us that education is not simply about the formation of the mind, but also the formation of the heart.

We are deeply grateful for the PES community and their continued dedication to the mission of Chesterton Academy.

A Message from Fr. Alvaro

Dear Chesterton Academy of Sacramento Family,

I was in Rome in October on a special mission for Pro Ecclesia Sancta. It has been a deeply fruitful and rewarding time, though it was hard not to be with you at the Gala. I heard it was wonderful, possibly our best gala yet, and another testament to the blessings God keeps pouring out on our school.

Speaking of blessings, during my time in Rome, I had the grace of meeting the Holy Father,Pope Leo XIV. Knowing ahead of time that meeting the Holy Fatherwas a possibility and wanting him to pray for us and bless us, I asked Mr. Brehm and Mrs. Holowecky to help me prepare an album showing our young school and the growth God is giving us. I presented it to him on behalf of all of us. The Holy Father seemed genuinely delighted, took the album, and promised to pray for the school. It was an unforgettable moment!

Coincidentally, or rather providentially (since it was not part of the plan), my parents were with me when I met the Holy Father. Another providential surprise was spending two days with Kevin James, the actor and devout Catholic, and his family, together with Fr. Adam (remember him?). We celebrated Mass in the Vatican Grottoes, right beside St. Peter's tomb. Within days, I had been with both the first Pope and the current one!

I told Kevin about the Order of the Sacred Heart and promised him our school would pray for him. He kindly recorded a video message for our students, which I am happy to share with you below.

All of this confirms how special our school is and how special each of you is to the Lord. As Scripture says, "He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye" (Deuteronomy 32:10). May we never forget that God holds this school just as close.

We should not only be in awe that these things are happening; we should also be asking ourselves: Why is this happening to us? Perhaps the Lord has something great in store for our school and for each of our families. As He tells us through the prophet Jeremiah, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).

The gifts we receive from God are graces, and graces call for, in the clearest and strongest terms, fruits of holiness. As St. Paul reminds us, "For this is the will of God, your sanctification" (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

After months of preparation, the Sophomores and Seniors are ready to dazzle you with their upcoming stage performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Bad Manners at the Manor. Building sets, memorizing lines, and costume fittings—-these are the moments when our students shine brighter than ever. Yes, it’s PLAY SEASON. Tickets are available online and at the door. You will not want to miss it!

As we celebrate five years of God's faithfulness to Chesterton Academy, we look ahead with gratitude and excitement for what is still to come.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, we reached our $389,000 fundraising goal at this year's Vision Gala, helping meet the financial needs of the current school year. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has played a part in sustaining our mission.

Now, as we look toward the future, #iGiveCatholic offers another opportunity to invest in the continued growth and flourishing of Chesterton Academy. From strengthening our programs and resources to expanding opportunities for future students, we hope to build upon the strong foundation established over the past five years.

Advanced Giving begins November 16, ahead of the official #iGiveCatholic Giving Tuesday campaign on December 1st.
